Rules, Regulations & FAQ

Location

The 2024 festival is located outside the town of Pine, CO on the property of Historic Green Mountain Ranch, about 1 hour from downtown Denver. The exact coordinates are 39.297825, -105.275951. Save the area offline on Google Maps, Apple Maps, or whatever app you use. Save the Psychs Peak coordinates.

Parking + Carpooling

Vehicle clearance is not required to reach the site. Psychs Peak volunteers will direct you where to park once you arrive. You’ll have the area surrounding your car available as your campsite, it will be more room than at big camping fests like Bonnaroo. PLEASE carpool if you can. We’d like to have as few cars as possible taking up camping space.

Gate + Arrival Time

The festival gate will be open from 9am-midnight on 7/19 and 8am-10pm on 7/20. Volunteers and band members may arrive early.

Tickets

Tickets will be handled like a standard will call list. Your name will be checked against the list when you arrive. If you bought a group package, tell your friends to give the person checking tickets your name. Bring your ID. We will stop all cars that pull up to ensure everyone has a ticket; if you do not have a ticket we will take cash or card on site. You must have a ticket to enter! After Thursday 7/18, online ticket sales will be cut off, and the only way to buy a ticket will be at the festival. Ticket prices at the festival gate will also increase to $70! Get your tickets early to save! Click here to purchase tickets.

Merch

Festival merch is available on our website until 7/17 and at the festival. Individual band merch will be available at the festival. Please bring cash if you plan to buy any, as bands may not be able to take cards, and Venmo/Cash/Zelle apps, etc. may not work depending on cell service.

Camping

Psychs Peak is not responsible for your camping experience. The following information is only for your awareness while recreating on private land. Camping is optional. The festival is only providing the stages, entertainment, and portable toilets from July 19-20. If you choose to camp, you are responsible for everything including food, water, and shelter. Total camping rookies should read this list and these general camping tips:

  • No personal campfires, excluding propane fire pits
  • Fines for fire violations can be up to $1000 + cost of any property damage and firefighting efforts
  • Remove all personal property and trash when leaving
  • Possessing, discharging, or using any type of firework or pyrotechnic device is prohibited
  • There are no quiet hours – but please be considerate of your neighbors, don’t blast music in your campsite until the sun comes up
  • Alcohol consumption by minors (under age 21) is prohibited
  • Keep an eye on the weather forecast and know what to expect
  • Bring warm clothes as it may be cold at night
  • Bring a sleeping bag that can handle temps in the 40s at a minimum
  • If you want to stay cool, think about sleeping in a cot to get off the ground
  • Bring a hat, sunscreen, and pop-up shelters to protect yourself from the sun anyway
  • Bring a flashlight/headlamp that you know works
  • Bring earplugs
  • Be prepared for rain and wind; stake your tents down and bring a jacket
  • Bring enough food for yourself (obviously)
  • Lock all food in vehicles overnight – bears and animals will eat it if you don’t
  • Bring trash bags to haul out your own waste – the festival is not responsible for hauling your trash away
  • Propane stoves are allowed
  • Bring at least 1gal of water per person per day
  • Bring a basic first aid kit – the festival cannot provide medical services for liability reasons
  • There may not be cell service at the site and we will not have wifi

Reentry

You may leave and enter the festival as often as you want, but we will check your ticket every time you enter.

RVs/Campers

RVs and campers are allowed, but there are no hookups for water or electricity available on-site. There are also no waste dump stations.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed for liability reasons. No exceptions.

Fires/Fire Pits

Personal campfires will be banned entirely on the festival ground unless you have a propane fire pit or a fully closed steel pit with a lid. Obviously, non-propane fires will be banned if local fire bans are in place. If local fire restrictions allow, the festival will construct a few large community fire pits and will manage them.

Trash

Everyone must haul out all their own trash. Do not litter. If you see trash on the ground, pick it up and put it in a trash bag. CIGARETTE BUTTS ARE TRASH. If we see you throw a cig on the ground, you will have to lick it up, eat it, and you will be sent to the gulag to serve the rest of your life doing hard prison labor. If we cannot leave the area cleaner than we found it, we may not be able to host the festival at Historic Green Mountain Ranch in the future.

Cancellation/Refunds

The festival will go on rain or shine. If there’s a biblical monsoon and/or wind and lightning, we’ll have to pause the festival until the weather passes. In any case, we will not cancel the fest and there will be no refunds.

Kids

While Psychs Peak isn’t necessarily designed to be kid friendly, we don’t mind if people bring kids. For now, our policy is that the festival is free to attend for people 18 and under. If you are under 18, you must have a guardian accompanying you. The festival is on private property so it’s legal for people to consume alcohol and/or smoke. The crowd is a typical rock concert crowd. Attendees in the past have been very chill about everything and no one gets rowdy. It’s up to you to decide if you’re OK with bringing your kids.

Disc golf tournament

We’re pairing up with Another Round Denver this year for a pre-fest disc golf tournament at the 18-hole Little Scraggy disc golf course, located on the same property as PP! Show up to play any time between 9am and 3pm on Friday 7/19, then head over to the fest when you’re done. Entry into the tourney is $10 for players without a PP ticket, $5 for those already with tickets. Prizes will include: custom-dyed discs with the PP logo, gift cards to Little Scraggy Pro Shop, and more! There will also be a $10 ticket discount at the gate on the day of the event for all disc golfers who haven’t purchased a ticket yet.

TUBING / River fun

  1. Pack a pair of solid shoes for the river, preferably aqua shoes or sneakers – NO FLIP FLOPS!!!
  2. Pack a swimsuit (duh)
  3. Don’t forget to bring a towel
  4. Wear a life vest and helmet
  5. Know how to swim
  6. Wear sunscreen
  7. Pick up a tube or other equivalent flotation device at Big 5 Sports or any other store that might have them
  8. Make sure at least one person in your group has a dry bag to put your phones in – available at Big 5 Sports, REI, etc.
  9. Make sure you have a pump to inflate your tubes – available at Big 5 Sports and other places
  10. Download a map of the area offline on Google Maps, Apple Maps, or whatever app you use

Friday Tubing: Be ready with your river wear, tubes, pump, dry bag by noon.

Saturday Tubing: Be ready with your river wear, tubes, pump, dry bag by 10am.

Sunday Tubing: Pack up your camp and be ready with your river wear, towels, tubes, pump, and dry bag by 11am. We need to have everyone out of the site by 3pm.

We will have a shuttle that can take up to groups of 5 down to the river put-in spot (~15 min drive from Psychs Peak). The shuttle will be $10/person for the round trip. Inflate your tubes in the parking lot, and plan to bring your pump with you on the river. The shuttle will need to immediately return to Psychs Peak to pick up another carload after dropping you off, and cannot wait for you to finish inflating your tubes (this might take you 20+ minutes). Do not count on keeping any belongings in the shuttle other than your towels. Do not wear a pair of sunglasses you’re not comfortable losing. Keep anything of value in your group’s dry bag. Once you get in the river, the float will take approximately 2 hours. Obey any/all signs regarding private property. DO NOT GET OUT OF THE RIVER ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. You will float under the first bridge that is around the halfway mark. When you see the second bridge, paddle hard to the right, and get out on the right side of the river. The entire float will take around 2 hours. Start to deflate your tubes as soon as you get out. The shuttle will be at the get-out point approximately 2 hours from when you put in. There is no cell service along the river, so you will have to have a little faith and wait until the shuttle shows up.

If you just want to chill by the river and dip your toes, go to one of these spots (parking fees may apply):
